DESIGN + BUILD
Featured Projects
HAUS NORTHGATE 065
Northgate Haus 065 is one of our most ambitious projects to date, where we truly flexed the Happy Haus design + build model.
A collaboration with friend and former HH lead architect Jessica Hardwick, this contemporary Queenslander sits on an expansive (and mostly flat) 1200sqm site atop the hill. Situated on Northgate’s most coveted street, this six-bedroom luxury home melds Modernist and Queenslander cues. Dramatic curves contrast classic straight lines of wood and brickwork. Refined products and materials in the kitchen and bathroom elevate the level of sophistication.
HAUS GRANGE 018
Haus Grange is a study in mid-century design principles and modern subtropical living.
Every detail—from the floating staircase to the garden-framed interiors and natural materials—creates flowing spaces with distinctive atmosphere. The design transcends the constraints of the narrow 10 x 40-metre block, creating a sense of expansion that defies its footprint, where design intent, thoughtful material selection and purposeful building practices coexist to demonstrate what happens when materiality is understood not merely as a finishing touch, but as the fundamental language through which architecture enables lifestyle.
SEVEN HILLS HAUS 047
Challenging topography became architectural opportunity at Seven Hills Haus 047. For the tricky site of Seven Hills Haus 047, height became our greatest opportunity.
The western orientation initially posed the challenges of afternoon sun and privacy concerns. However, it was this orientation that became the key to unlocking spectacular city views. Mid-century influences meet subtropical principles at Seven Hills Haus 047. Clean lines, expansive modular glazing, and protected verandas all work to create a home that breathes with its climate.
GORDON PARK HAUS 024
Contrasting volumes craft enticing journeys through Gordon Park Haus 024. Smooth transitions connect intimate and expansive spaces.
Playful angular exterior contrasts with the soft, rounded finishes inside this home. An internal courtyard adds visual whimsy, creates volume, and enhances ventilation, thereby expanding the open plan. The living areas are enhanced by a central lightwell that links the ground floor to the upper level, creating a sense of vertical drama. Meanwhile, quiet corners and window nooks function as cozy retreats within the family home.
TARINGA HAUS 005
A welcoming sanctuary on an elevated 827 sq m lot that utilises thoughtful design to connect, protect and celebrate a lifestyle driven by social gatherings and the beauty of everyday family existence.T
Every design decision delivers comfortable living in the subtropics. Double-height voids help draw cool air through the home, while expansive sliding doors dissolve the boundary between the kitchen and the outdoor entertaining area. Taringa Haus 005 stands as a testament to considered living, where family experience is buoyed by meaningful architecture.
