MEET

The Artists

Saltwater Woman | Annalisa Lawrence

Annalisa Lawrence is an Australian contemporary artist whose practice centres on figurative painting and the emotional landscapes of coastal life. Her work reflects a lifelong relationship with the sea - exploring presence, belonging, solitude, and human connection through restrained, intuitive mark-making. Working primarily with acrylic on linen, Lawrence creates textured figurative compositions that favour gesture over detail. Faces are often softened or obscured, allowing the viewer to enter the work emotionally rather than through identity.

Her artworks reflect her passion for capturing the beauty of flowers, plants and colour in an evocative and joyful manner. She believes her art can feed the soul of a home and encourages viewers to observe the world with added curiosity. A global wanderer and romantic at heart, Lisa brings a deftness of touch to all she creates, capturing the ephemeral and distilling it into beauty, experience and atmosphere for leading brands, people, places and spaces.

Her work is guided by truth, beauty and the unexpected — a quiet nod to the old, an embrace of the new, and an instinctive ability to create moments that feel both abundant and deeply considered.

Each work pays homage to the life, character and quiet individuality of the tree it comes from, celebrating the subtle marks, textures and histories shaped by time and place. Created slowly and by hand, every pressing is made through an intimate process of working with each tree to reveal its raw and authentic identity. The result is a limited-edition artwork that is both a record and a tribute — a way of honouring nature’s imperfections, growth and enduring presence.

Cat Gerke

Cat Gerke is a contemporary still life painter living and working in the Byron Bay Hinterland. Her paintings honour the rituals of daily life: food, objects, memory, and the quiet magic of gathering. In Cat’s work, themes of imbalance, fertility, and power are delicately layered into compositions that speak softly but carry weight. Subtle symbolism—ripe fruit, empty vessels, floral decay—echo broader narratives, though never so overtly that they overpower the emotional resonance of the image. Her practice walks a line between the conceptual and the personal, rooted in realism but always open to interpretation.
