Annalisa Lawrence, widely known as Saltwater Woman, is an Australian contemporary artist whose practice centres on figurative painting and the emotional landscapes of coastal life. Born in Tasmania and now based on the New South Wales coastline, her work explores presence, belonging, solitude and human connection. Her paintings often draw from travel, motherhood, surfing and the shared threads of human experience.

In a home, Saltwater Woman’s work brings soul. These are pieces that feel especially powerful in spaces with natural materials: limewash walls, linen curtains, worn timber, handmade tiles, sisal rugs and relaxed furniture.
