Byron Bay Just Got a Little More Glamorous

Last week, we were lucky enough to step inside a new chapter of Byron luxury with the unveiling of The Bower Byron Bay’s brand-new reception, guest lounge, hotel bar, and four beautifully renovated upstairs suites.

Byron is known for its breezy, sunlit, coastal style—but The Bower has taken a bold new direction. The interiors lean into a rich, moody palette that feels intentional, layered, and undeniably glamorous. Think blackened textures, oak grain detailing, subtle lacquered finishes, and soft light that moves through the space like a quiet rhythm. It’s a fresh take on Byron style—less barefoot and beachy, more sophisticated and timeless.

A Design Evolution

Designed in collaboration with Studio Plenty and Tanevmuir, the transformation feels like an evolution rather than a reinvention. Every design choice is grounded in the warmth and spirit of Byron Bay, while staying in tune with The Bower’s original aesthetic.

The guest lounge and bar invite you to sink in and linger, while the suites upstairs strike a balance between indulgence and intimacy. This isn’t just a renovation—it’s a thoughtful layering of history, materiality, and atmosphere.

Artistry in the Details

One of the highlights of the space is the integration of local artistry. Furniture pieces by Alexis Williams anchor the rooms with sculptural elegance, while new works by Francesca Owen breathe life and narrative into the walls. These details don’t just decorate; they speak to place, craft, and the unique creative energy that defines Byron.

Why We Love It

What makes this reveal so exciting is the way it reimagines what Byron style can be. The Bower has proven that glamour and mood can belong here just as much as light and ease. It’s Byron, but dressed for the evening—thoughtful, layered, and completely captivating.

Accommodation that feels like home.

We love that the rooms at the Bower each have their own personality and flavour, yet all the comforts of home. This is the true essence of designer travelling.

So next time you’re in town, make sure you drop in for a drink at the bar or, if you’re lucky, check into one of the new suites. Byron Bay has never looked so chic.
