Welcome to Birdsong House — the personal home of our founder & creative director, Melissa Bonney. Like so many people right now, this project hasn’t gone exactly to plan. With the economy shifting, the property market uncertain, and budgets tighter than expected… Mel has had to rethink everything — balancing smart investments with budget-friendly updates to make her home truly work.
Welcome to Banksia House — a 120-year-old cottage set in the Byron Bay hinterland, surrounded by incredible land, native gardens and a sense of quiet that’s hard to find. In this first episode, Mel visits the property to catch up with Cat (who is also a co-owner of The Designory, but not often seen on camera), who has been living in Banksia House for the past few weeks. And already… things have started to unfold.
