Welcome to Banksia House — a 120-year-old cottage set in the Byron Bay hinterland, surrounded by incredible land, native gardens and a sense of quiet that’s hard to find. In this first episode, Mel visits the property to catch up with Cat (who is also a co-owner of The Designory, but not often seen on camera), who has been living in Banksia House for the past few weeks. And already… things have started to unfold.
This is where the ideas come out, the samples hit the table, and the direction begins to take form. At The Designory, this is one of the most important stages of any project — exploring materials, finishes and feeling before making any big decisions.
