Commercial Use Licensing

DESIGNED FOR PROFESSIONALS, STRUCTURED FOR FLEXIBILITY

The Designory plans are more than drawings — they are refined architectural frameworks developed through decades of real-world design, building and interior expertise. For architects, designers, builders and developers seeking to accelerate delivery without compromising design integrity, we offer structured Commercial Licensing.

This is not a template purchase. It is a professional intellectual property licence.

  • When purchasing under a Commercial Licence, you are licensing a design framework delivered in editable format.

    You may:

    • Modify the design in any way required
    • Adapt for site conditions and compliance
    • Integrate into your own drawing sets
    • Apply your own branding
    • Build in original or modified form

The plans become part of your project workflow — not a co-branded product.

  • The Designory supplies the original intellectual property only.

From the moment the files are issued:

    • You are the designer of record
    • You assume full responsibility for all modifications
    • You are responsible for regulatory compliance
    • You coordinate engineering and consultants
    • You carry liability for build outcomes

The Designory is not involved in certification, approvals or construction and bears no liability for amended or constructed documentation.

This ensures professional clarity and protects both parties.

  • We offer two structured commercial pathways:

    Single-Use Commercial Licence

For one nominated project or build.

    Ideal for:
    • Client-specific homes
    • Time-sensitive projects
    • Builders requiring a refined architectural base

    Investment:
2 × the standard retail plan price

This reflects professional usage rights and the commercial value derived from the intellectual property.

    Multi-Use Commercial Licence

For professionals intending to use the design across multiple projects within their business.

    Ideal for:
    • Boutique developers
    • Builder design collections
    • Ongoing client projects
    • Repeated application within a business model

    Investment:
5 × the standard retail plan price

This structure recognises the ongoing commercial benefit of repeat use while preserving intellectual property ownership.

    All commercial licences:

    • Are non-transferable
    • Do not transfer intellectual property ownership
    • Do not permit resale or redistribution of the base plans as standalone products

Regional exclusivity or expanded licensing arrangements may be negotiated separately.

  • • Reduce concept development time
    • Access refined spatial planning
    • Leverage a proven architectural framework
    • Maintain full authorship of final documentation
    • Protect brand identity
    • Avoid the cost and time of starting from scratch

The licence structure ensures you retain creative control while benefiting from a strategically developed design foundation.

  • All original plans remain the intellectual property of The Designory Pty Ltd and are protected under Australian copyright law.

Commercial licensing grants defined usage rights — it does not transfer ownership of the underlying design.

Unauthorised reproduction, redistribution or reuse outside the licence scope may constitute copyright infringement.

  • Commercial licensing is available by application and written agreement.

FAQ’s

USING + CUSTOMISING YOUR PLANS

  • Absolutely. Think of your plan as the blueprint — the finishes and fixtures are completely up to you. You can apply selections from another project by The Designory using our Sourcing + Selections packages, or create your own palette from scratch for a fully custom look.

  • The best option is the CAD Drawing File Upgrade, which gives you the editable file. You can hand this straight to your builder, designer, or draftsperson so they can adjust the layout and dimensions to suit your site and local council requirements.

  • Yes! Choose our “Edit The Design With Us” Upgrade. This package includes a 1:1 call with Melissa to discuss your project, plus 2 hours of drafting time where we’ll tailor the plan directly for you.

  • Definitely. With the CAD Drawing File Upgrade, your builder or draftsperson gets full access to the editable files. This makes it simple to adapt the plan to your site, saving time and eliminating guesswork.

  • Yes — our plans are designed to mix and match across projects. To keep everything cohesive, we recommend pairing them with a Sourcing + Selections package, which ensures finishes and fittings flow seamlessly throughout your home.

  • That’s no problem. The fixtures and finishes in the original project don’t lock you in. You can substitute with those from a different Designory project or source your own — the plan still works as the perfect design foundation.

  • Every site has unique conditions and requirements. Our plans are council-appropriate and professionally drafted, but they will need to be adapted by a local, qualified professional to meet your site’s codes, conditions, and approvals.

  • Our plans are designed to be flexible and adaptable. With the CAD Drawing File Upgrade, your builder or designer can adjust layouts, dimensions, and details to ensure the plan works seamlessly for your site and orientation.

  • Not at all. Think of it as a shortcut to clarity — a proven design foundation you can adapt. You’ll save hundreds of hours on drafting while still keeping the flexibility to customise dimensions, materials, and finishes to suit your style and site.

  • If your project requires further edits, you can book additional design or drafting time with The Designory team. This allows you to tailor the plans beyond the standard 2-hour upgrade for a truly bespoke result — without starting from scratch.

  • You’re not alone. Our team is here to help with optional design sessions, sourcing support, and project guidance. Whether you need advice on adapting your plan, choosing materials, or keeping your project cohesive, we’ve got you covered.

  •  All architectural plans, design drawings, specifications, schedules, layouts, concepts, documentation, and associated materials are the exclusive intellectual property of The Designory Pty Ltd and are protected under Australian and international copyright laws. © 2026 The Designory Pty Ltd. Personal Use Licence
Standard purchase grants the purchaser a limited, non-transferable licence for personal use only. This permits the construction of one single dwelling for the purchaser’s own residential use. The plans may not be reproduced, modified, resold, distributed, or used for commercial building or development purposes.

    Commercial Licensing
Use of these plans by builders, architects, designers, developers, investors, or other industry professionals constitutes commercial use.

Commercial use is available strictly by application and written approval and is subject to a formal licence agreement. The following commercial licence options may apply:

    • Single-Use Commercial Licence – Permits use of the plans for one client project or one build only.
    • Multi-Use Commercial Licence – Permits use of the plans across multiple projects, subject to agreed terms and licensing fees.

Unauthorised reproduction, adaptation, distribution, or commercial application of these plans constitutes a breach of copyright and may result in legal action.
